Why You Don’t Need a Billboard Lawyer

If you’ve driven anywhere in Joplin lately, you’ve seen them. Billboards everywhere. Giant faces. Catchy slogans. Toll-free numbers. Personal injury lawyers advertise heavily along I-44 and Highway 71.

Billboard advertising can make a law firm familiar. But advertising presence alone does not establish who will handle your case, how often you will communicate with the lawyer, or whether the lawyer’s experience fits your particular claim.

What a Billboard Can’t Tell You

A billboard can tell you a firm exists and wants your call. It can’t tell you who will be responsible for your file, whether you will be able to speak directly with the lawyer, how the firm will keep you informed, or what relevant litigation and trial experience the lawyer has. The only way to learn those things is to ask.

What Actually Matters When Choosing a Lawyer

Before choosing any personal injury lawyer — billboard or not — ask these questions: Who will be responsible for my file? Will I be able to speak directly with the lawyer? How will the firm keep me informed as my case moves forward? What litigation and trial experience does the lawyer have that fits my particular case?

The right lawyer is not necessarily the lawyer with the largest advertising presence. It is the lawyer whose experience, communication, and approach fit your case.

A Different Kind of Firm

At Benecke Injury Law, I don’t spend money on billboards. I spend my time preparing cases and working in courtrooms. I’ve spent over 20 years trying cases to jury verdict, and I personally handle every case from start to finish. I invite you to ask me those questions — and to ask them of any lawyer you’re considering — before deciding whom to hire. When you’re hurt, call Kurt. (417) 553-4898. Free consultation.
